Comment Challenge: What are the 4 types of bridges we discussed today (hint: BATS)?
Ms. Trigina helped us finish artist statements which recorded the steps of Ukrainian eggs in writing and the modified steps we used in class. We received feedback on our Gmail writing about March break (for those who were able to do this on the laptops - those who wrote in books are still waiting for feedback). In Science, we reviewed our learning about Bow Habitat and took some additional time to add to the learning in our Trout Tales books. We had to jump back to our study of building and testing materials for a while and will continue to do so as we explore bridges. We reflected on our progress practicing 3 digit addition and subtraction with regrouping in class and worked on solving problems with all the necessary steps. Now, we will begin to practice our multiplication facts with speed and accuracy. It has been fun using many games to help this process along.
A special thanks to Ms. Trgina who prepared a slideshow, a small gift and special note for each student today. We are so grateful to have had her in our class these past 3 months. All the best, Ms. Trgina!!
I will be away from class on Thursday the 13th and Tuesday the 18th, so the blog will resume on my return April 19.
Enjoy the long weekend everyone,
TW

Reminders:
1. No spelling this week.
2. Ms. Trgina will finish in our class on Thursday, April 13. We are sad to see her go, and thank her for the wonderful learning experiences she has brought to our class.
3. Spring musical performance April 20 - 2:00 PM afternoon and 6:30 PM evening performances. If you have a character part (caveperson, hippy, etc.) please find something at home that fits that part. If you are in the chorus, please wear anything that fits with the rock n' roll/surf/disco theme. No need to go buy anything, just work with what you have. Let me know if you have any questions about this.
4. Grade 3 Artist in Residence - we are pleased to welcome Michelle Getzlaf who will help us connect our inquiry learning in Fish Creek with a legacy art project which will be installed in Fish Creek Park Environmental Learning Centre. We will need lots of adult hands to help with this project. The dates of the project are April 24-May 5. Our scheduled times with the artist for Room 72 are Monday to Thursday 12:45-1:30 PM. Friday 8:05-8:30 AM. Please let me know by email if you can support us on any days during this residency. You will help cut tile and support kids with their jobs as directed by the artist.
