Comment Challenge: What are the stages in the life cycle of a fish?
Hello Everyone,
The weather was so lovely today. It was nice to be outside for a morning and afternoon recess. Today in Math, we extended the Magic Triangle to sums of 10 on each side of the triangle. Could you make the triangle work for any other sums? Students are working on a Social Studies project collecting research on interesting topics related to India, Ukraine, Tunisia and Peru. Pysanky eggs received a first coat of paint and further work was done to explore the symbols and colors important to Ukrainian culture represented on the eggs. Kids will have a completed project on Friday. Students are becoming more proficient at expository writing techniques. The Egg Drop experiment was a great chance to practice writing using the Scientific Method - something we have worked on all year.
Any students who are interested in a computer coding project related to our study of Fish Creek and the topic of survival and extinction can take a look under the link Student Projects and Clubs on the main blog. The project is organized into modules that can be worked on at home. Feel free to work through the modules at your leisure.
Reminders:
1. Knitting club tomorrow
2. Spelling quiz on Friday
3. Field trip on Tuesday, April 11 (parent volunteers - we depart at 8:50 AM)
4. Spring performance April 20 (afternoon and evening)
5. Welcome Mrs. Sherwood, our new Principal
Mrs. Wilcox
Ms. Trgina
