Today in LA, we practiced our new spelling words for the week in our groups We went on new printing mission to destroy Dr. Squishy Letters and his monsters of mayhem. They always cause printing trouble. We got a new tool called a mini space man to help with spacing. Some people are STILL having flying letters. Is it you? We learned about entertaining beginnings in narrative writing. They are important to hook the reader into your story. We know the parts that go into an entertaining beginning and now we will work to create some. We continued our list of read aloud books from the beginning of the year and identified if they were narrative or expository. We are working hard on connecting and visualizing when we read. This helps us understand. We chose to write an expository piece about either Halloween or Diwali. In Science, we loaded our ear safety graphs (made in Excel) into IRIS. You can see them there. Math work included expanded form with three digit numbers made from Math Monsters.
Reminders: Special lunch is on Nov. 3. Picture retakes are on Nov. 7. On Friday we will have a special visitor from the Canadian military. Thanks for the snacks today.
Stay safe tonight,
