We're back online!
Comment Challenge: In the study of life cycles, name some animals whose adult form is different from their beginning form.
Today we put into practice our cursive writing skills and worked to create spring poems using our skills. This has helped us see what we are comfortable with and what we still need to practice. All kids could work on uppercase letters in cursive. We added to some pieces of expository writing we have been working on as students have had a number of supported experiences and should now be able to write an introduction, 2 body paragraphs and a conclusion on a variety of topics using the expository format taught in class.
In Science, we played a sorting game with the unique vocabulary important for tomorrow's field trip to the Bow Habitat Station. At home, students should be able to explain the difference between egg, alevin, fry and adult in the trout life cycle. This field trip will be an introduction to our fourth and final unit, but we still have some work to finish about building and testing with materials.
In Math, we are continuing to practice the important operations in grade 3 as well as applying these skills in problem solving situations. Students should be able to explain the steps in approaching a problem and what is included in a complete problem.
A couple of reminders:
1. Field trip to Bow Habitat Station on Tuesday. This will be a mostly indoor experience. Please pack water, snacks and lunch.
2. No spelling this week.
3. Ms. Trgina will finish in our class on Thursday, April 13. We are sad to see her go, and thank her for the wonderful learning experiences she has brought to our class.
4. We were pleased to welcome Mrs. Sherwood, our new Principal to Evergreen School this week.
5. Spring musical performance April 20 - afternoon and evening performances. Information about what kids should wear for the performance will come out this week.
See you tomorrow.
