Today we worked with number lines to show different fractions. We will continue to work on this on Wednesday.
In Writing today we continued to work on our Everybody Needs a Bike book. Students are choosing one part of a bike and explaining what you need to think about when you are choosing a bike. We wrote a class example together about the colour of the bike you choose.
Rule number 1:
You must look for the perfect color. It should be a colour that speaks to you, One that only you choose. Don't let anyone else choose it for you. It should be your favourite colour. I like the blue colour of the sky on a sunny summer day the best.
Students needed to expand their idea by writing at least 5 sentences on their topic.
Some of us need to work on this at home tonight and have brought our Writer's Notebooks home to complete this writing. It should not take more than 15 minutes. This is a rough draft. My expectation is that students write at lease 5 sentences that may have some errors in them. We will begin to edit the pieces tomorrow. Re-reading their own work and making corrections for capitals, ordinary words, punctuation and spelling is part of this short writing piece.
Tomorrow is oour PIRLS reading study participation day. Students may want to bring an extra snack, water and get to bed early tonight.
If you do not have writing to work on tonight you may want to work on Mathletics for 15 minutes.
Have a wonderful evening.
