Today we investigated the changes that occur to our shadows throughout the day. We went outside to trace our shadows in the morning and again in the afternoon. Students noticed the changes that occurred to their shadows over the day. We then discussed why these changes took place and recorded our observations and conclusions in our visual journal.
In Math we continued to explore fractions of a set. To help review this concept students can show you what 1/4 of 16 is
X X X X
They can use the picture to help them explain what 1/4 of 16 is.
In Social Studies we continued to explore individuals that are important to the fur trade. Some of the questions we looked at were: "How did this person spend his/her days?
Was he/she employed? Did he/she live off the land? What kind of person do you think he/she was? What did he/she eat? What were his/her daily activities? What kind of shelter did she/he live in? Did he/she live alone? What else about him/her do you know"
Have a wonderful evening.
