Question of the day is located at the end of this entry!
Today the students were very excited to work on the finishing touches of their dioramas that they have created for The One and Only Ivan. Tomorrow will be the last day that students will have class time to work on these. So if they are not finished in class tomorrow they can take them home to finish them. They will be due on Tuesday April 7, 2015.
In Science today we had a chance to reflect on what made our free standing structures stable. We also tested if the same base would keep our tower stable if we increased the height of our tower.
Tomorrow we will begin working on our research of the Ukraine and investigate the topics we chose before spring break. We will be using the same web site as that we used for our India research. A link can be found on the blog under the Social Studies tab.
Today our class got a chance to spend some time in the learning commons. As a school, we have been thinking about what a “learning commons” really means, and what we want our learning commons to look like. After visiting the learning commons with Mrs. Redd’s class we brainstormed some ideas. We also watched a short video explaining the Dewey Decimal system, and talked about how important it is to take care of the books in our library keep them organized. As a staff, we created various “mission statements” for the learning commons. We would like you and your family to read through them and vote for which is your favourite! The winning one will become the new mission statement for our Evergreen Learning Commons. They are all visible on the Evergreen Learning Commons Website which can be found here: www.evergreenlearningcommons.weebly.com
Please read for 15 minutes this evening.
