What did you learn in school today?
Today in school we experimented with mixing light. Ask your child about our experiment! We cut open glow sticks (taking proper safety precautions, including goggles and gloves) to investigate how they work. We learned how there are two separate liquids inside the larger tube and when you 'crack' a glow stick you are actually breaking an interior tube that allows the two liquids to mix.
We used a blue, red, and green glow sticks in our experiment. We mixed these three colours in different combinations to create a variety of colours.

What are the primary colours of light? What colours did we make when we mixed the primary colours? What happened when we mixed all of the colours?
Hope this gives you some interesting dinner table conversations!
Best,
Mrs. Maronese
