Hello!
Math:
In today's math class, we began working on multiplication. We started off with a game, where one student rolled the dice, which told us how many groups we would have, and another student rolled the dice, which told us how many were in each group, which we then built up with visuals. Students documented the number sentence in their math journals, and then solved for the answer (the product). We talked about how skip counting was the easiest way to figure out the product.
Writing - Mrs. Hordyk's and Mr. Mackenzie's classes:
In writing today, we continued working on our non-fiction writing. Students continued to develop and edit the body of their text, adding in more details and juicy words.
Writing - Mrs Redd's and Mrs. Predika's classes:
Students continued with nonfiction writing, by reassembling another paragraph. This is an important step in order to understand the structure of paragraphs. We finished off the class by brainstorming our most special object, and asking the 5 Ws and How of the object.
