Hi Folks!
One week tomorrow we are on our way to Drumheller for our Edutour at the Royal Tyrrell!
Just in case you have misplaced it, here is a link to the packing list.
IMPORTANT DRUMHELLER TRIP NOTICE:
In order to accommodate some families who were not able to attend the parent session last week, we will be hosting one more session on Thursday, February 25th at 7:30am. We will finish by 7:55am. A reminder that this is a mandatory meeting, as the Calgary Board of Education requires that teachers meet face to face with student guardians before an overnight trip. If a guardian is unable to attend this meeting your child will be unable to attend the fieldtrip. He/she will be assigned to another grade 4 classroom for the two days we are gone. We look forward to seeing you next week and are counting down the days to this very exciting learning opportunity for our students!
Please contact me immediately if you are unable to attend.
What Did You Learn in School Today?
Today we tried thinking like paleontologists! Students learned about how scientists classify dinosaurs, beginning with hip type. Students examined a variety of photographs of skeletons from the Royal Tyrrell museum. We tried to use clues in the skeletons to determine if the dino lived on land or water, if they ate meat or plants and tried to classify their type.

Looking forward to seeing some of you folks on Thursday!
Best,
Mrs. Maronese
