We will be having a little celebration on Friday. Please comment below if you are able to bring any of the following:
- cheese and cracker tray
- veggie tray
- Fruit tray
Friday is pajama day. Kiddos are welcome to wear their PJs and slippers. Please leave stuffies, toys, blankets, pillows, etc. at home.
We are caroling as a school on Friday. Families are welcome to join us.
Canstruction
Our grade four design team is just about ready to begin their Canstruction® project on Tuesday afternoon for the Calgary Food Bank. This year’s theme is nature. The grade 4 design team has decided to extend their learning about the regions of Alberta and build a model of the Rocky Mountains. They have already received a number of colour specific donations for their creation. At this time they are still looking for donations of cans or boxes, specifically withbrown/black/grey, green and blue coloured labels.
All food donations are gratefully accepted and can be dropped off at the school office anytime up until Tuesday at noon. Thank you for your support of this project which in turn will go to support needy Calgarians.
What did you learn in school today?
We started an inquiry about waste in our world. Students will be learning why some items are biodegradable and which are not. We will be learning about toxins and packaging. Lots to come in addition to our presentations on recycling from the beginning of the year.
Home Learning
What does biodegradable mean? Are there parts of the word that you already know the meaning of?
Hope you have some interesting dinner table conversations!
Best,
Mrs. Maronese
