We continued to look through books to find information to answer our question for Social Studies: What is it like to live in India?
Students have been taking jot notes on sub-topics that will help them answer our big question.
In Math we worked on solving a variety of word problems. All of the word problems could be solved by understanding the patterns in the questions. We will continue to work on solving problems using patterns tomorrow.
Some students answered the decreasing pattern questions from last nights blog. If you did not get a chance to solve them last night take a look tonight. Please remember to write you pattern rule in the following way:
Starts on_________ and decreases or (goes down) by ________ each time. Then figure out the next terms in the pattern. This is called extending the pattern.
We are getting excited about our book launch on Friday. I would like to thank you for sending in something for our special day. We have 4 fruit trays which is great. Some students are bringing in muffins and cookies as well. If there are any families who would like to contribute plates, small cups and napkins let me know. That way on Thursday night I will know what I need to pick up so that we will have everything we need for Friday.
We will be doing our spelling test on Friday morning as well.
Students may not have a chance to copy their new words down due to time constraints. I will have them posted on the blog on Friday afternoon for you to write down at home.
Everyone needs to read for 15 minutes every night. If students notice examples of similes, or personification in their books I would love for them to share that with the class! Happy reading!
Enjoy your warm evening!
