Today we investigated arches. Students worked in small groups to see which arch would hold more weight: an arch that spans 10cm, or an arch that spans 20 cm. Some students finished testing today, and others will finish tomorrow. Once we are all finished we will get a chance to share our results with others and try to figure out why one would hold more weight than the other.
In Math today students began to work exploring different fractions. The questions helped students to understand that the denominator lets you know how many parts your whole object is divided into.
In writing we continued to work on generating story idea for our fiction writing. We are beginning to develop our characters as well, with character sketches and thinking about character traits.
Spelling test is tomorrow.
Friday is a Professional Day so there is no school for students.
Please work for 20 minutes on our Mathletics assignments.
Also please read for 15 minutes and talk to an adult about what you read.
Have a wonderful evening.
Mrs. Predika
