Today in science we continued to learn all about properties. At their tables, students shared their mystery objects. The students had to describe them to their tablemates by only saying the properties (texture, shape, colour, size, etc.) of the objects. Tomorrow we will finish sharing our mystery objects and start to look at rocks and begin to describe what we see.
In Math today we started with hit the target. Students had to decide if they would rather have a five-dollar bill, or a lot of different coins, which were displayed on the smart board. They may have started by wanting the five-dollar bill, but after further investigation (adding up the change) most agreed that it would be better to have the change because it added up to more than five dollars.
During our read aloud today we focused on tuning into interesting words. Students can write these words down in their Daily Five notebooks, creating a word bank of juicy words that they can use in their own writing.
Spelling test in tomorrow.
Have a spectacular evening!
