We continued our exploration of patterns today using the hundreds chart. Students looked at an increasing pattern on the hundreds chart and extended the pattern. Then they recorded the numbers in the pattern and wrote the pattern rule. We will continue to work with patterning until the end of this week. Early next week we will work on a Show what you know about patterns. We will be looking at area and perimeter next.
We have two students signed up to bring treats for our book launch on Friday.
We have a student bringing muffins and a student brining cookies. If you would like to send in something just send me a note on the blog.
Spelling test will be on Friday.
Math Challenge!!
Please try to solve these two math problems tonight. Students can send their responses to me in the comment section of the blog.
If this does not work for you, they can hand them in on paper.
Look at these number patterns:
1) 22,20,18,16,14 2) 60, 55, 50, 45
a) Write a pattern rule for each number pattern.
b) Write the next 3 numbers in each pattern.
Create your own decreasing pattern that decreases in a different way.
Write your pattern rule.
Have a wonderful evening.
