Today we worked on our Alberta Regions research project. Students are starting to complete the information collection process. Tomorrow we will start some Art that will help us to depict the landscapes of our region and further strengthen our understanding our Province.
In Math today we practiced adding 4 digit numbers we tried a new strategy of using expanded form to help us with 4 digit addition with re-grouping. Some students liked this strategy and others prefer to use base ten blocks or the house method to add 4 digit numbers.
In writing today we read the traditional version of Cinderella. Students then had some time to play with the story map. They created story maps that changed the characters, setting and problem while following the structure of the Cinderella fairy tale. We call this a fractured fairy tale.
Please continue to practice your reading and remember to retell what you read to an adult.
