In Math today we used arrays to answer some word problems using multiplication. Students are understanding that the first number in the multiplication sentences tells them how many rows they need and the second number represents the number of items in each row. For example:
4X3=12
XXX
XXX
XXX
XXX represent the equation 4 X3 =12
In writing today students looked at their beginnings to see if they had a balance of action, dialogue, description and sound effects. What some students noticed was that they had all dialogue but not a lot of description or action. We will continue to work on finding a balance of action, dialogue, and description as we craft our fiction stories.
Tomorrow is an exciting day at Evergreen school as we get to watch our “Evergreen’s Got Talent” show! Students from grades 3 and 4 will be performing various talents, and we can’t wait to cheer them on. Parents are welcome to attend. The show starts at 10:00 in the gym.
Parents, if you have any artifacts from Tunisia, Peru, Ukraine, or India, could you please send an email to your classroom teacher? We will be exploring Cubism as we make artwork in our next project, and we would like to photograph them for this project.
Spelling test will be tomorrow.
Mathletics passwords have gone home to help ensure students can access their accounts. Students should work on practicing their multiplication skills on their mathletics account this evening.
Read for 15 minutes
Spelling test is tomorrow.
Book orders are due tomorrow.
Have a wonderful evening.
