We have learned all of our Daily Five jobs, and will begin putting all the jobs together starting tomorrow. The five jobs that students will choose from are:
Read to Self
Read to Someone
Listen to Reading
Word Work
Work on Writing.
Students will choose the order that they will work through the jobs.
We started our Social Studies discussions about Quality of Life today by talking about wants and needs. The students were able to independently brainstorm some of their ideas, and then got to add their own ideas to our larger class chart. Some of the things we came up with were: water, food, and shelter. Tomorrow we will brainstorm more ideas and examine these in more detail, sorting our responses into different groups.
In Math we practiced skip counting using the hundreds chart. Students practiced skip counting by 2's, 5's and 10's starting on any number on the hundreds chart. Tomorrow we will practice this again but going backwards.
Tomorrow in Science we will be looking at what happens when sound energy hits a flexible surface. Does the softness or loudness of a sound produce different vibrations?
