We have made some changes to our Daily Five literacy block. Mr. MacKenzie will be working with our classroom on Monday and Wednesdays. Two groups will be working with him in the learning commons during our Daily Five time.
Today we worked on creating interesting beginnings. We looked at a story beginning that did not grab the reader's attention. Students were challenged to re-write it, to make it more interesting grabbing the reader's interest right from the start! Students used a variety of literary techniques to grab our attention.

We had a chance to share our beginnings and talk about what helped to grab our attention.
In Math students worked to finish a "Show What you Know" about four digit subtraction and addition with regrouping. Students also worked to complete their Figure Me Out posters.
Tomorrow we will be starting to learn strategies for multiplication of 2 or 3 digit numbers by 1 digit.

Practice basic facts multiplication facts up to 9's. Knowing these facts will help with our work on 2 and 3 digit multiplication.
