Today we started a very exciting project in Math! Students received a letter from the grade three team explaining that a gingerbread man from grade one has gone missing! The students have a very important job to create a gingerbread house for him. We will be working through the project from start to finish, and today we brainstormed what we will need to do and the order we will need to do things. Students began to sketch their ideas in their visual journals and made predictions about how we will be using addition, subtraction and patterning in our upcoming project. Please check out the letter the students received as well as ideas on how to build the gingerbread house on our Math tab found on the blog home page.
We are looking for cardboard to use as a base for our gingerbread houses. If you have any extra please send it in with your child this week! It should be strong enough to hold a gingerbread house (not a cereal box).
I am also looking for a couple parent volunteers to come in on Friday December 12 to help prepare some of the items for our gingerbread making. If you have your security clearance and you would be available to volunteer any time on Friday during school, please comment below or send me an email!
Thank you,
Have a wonderful evening.
