It was wonderful to reconnect with our classmates today. We had a busy day filled with writing and thinking and working with others. Some of the writing we worked on today was around our own personal summer stories. Students reflected on their summers' and wrote about favorite experiences, and new learnings. Students answered this question: If every summer has a story, what was your summer story?
Tomorrow we will talk about what artifact could represent their summer experiences and memories. I will be asking students to bring in this artifact on Thursday as we continue to add details to our personal narratives.
To start our year thinking about how Math is all around us, we looked at numbers in our lives. We called these personal numbers. Thinking about our "Personal Numbers" is a fun way for students to get to know each other and think about the ways that numbers are a part of our lives. Students notice that numbers are all around us and sever many different purposes.
We ended the day off reviewing the different leaning Zones that we talked about last year. We will continue to talk about Zones as we work together this year.
Have a wonderful evening!
