Today in Social Studies students worked at creating their paragraphs from their sentences. We worked to create topic sentences, add details to help expand our ideas and create a clear picture of our topic, and finally we learned about writing the closing sentence or clincher. The students are doing a great job creating their paragraphs. Once they have written their paragraphs we will be using premade templates to create our textbook pages. Examples of these pages can be found on the blog.
In Math today we revisited three-digit addition with regrouping. We reviewed three different strategies and students had to try different ways to find the answer to an addition question. I will be assigning some homework on Mathletics to help support our work with this.
In Writing today we worked with the Writer’s Cycle, generating possible story ideas that were inspired by a picture prompt. We then shared our different ideas for stories as a class.
Please work on Mathletics homework for 20 minutes
Practice spelling words using activity sheets
Read for 15 minutes.
Field trip:
Thank you to all of you who have said that you can volunteer. Tomorrow I will be sending home volunteer consent form for those parents who have said they can come on our field trip.
Have a wonderful evening.
Mrs. Predika.
