In Social Studies we spent time grouping all of the questions that we generated about India into larger topics. Then we started our inquiry proposal sheets. Students will be answering the question: What is it like to live in India? They chose which topics they wanted to focus on for their inquiry.
In Math we created increasing and decreasing patterns by playing a game called Roll and Go. This is how we played:
-Each player writes a number between 5 and 100. This is the start of an increasing number pattern.
-Each player rolls the number cube.
-This is the number added each time.
-Write the next 5 numbers in your pattern.
-Trade patterns with your partner. Find your partner’s pattern rule. Check that all numbers fit the pattern rule.
-You can play this again, but this time make a decreasing pattern.
-Choose a number between 31 and 40.
-Count back by the number rolled.
Have fun playing this game!
