In Writing today, students were working at their own pace to practice ideas for their stories. We call this part of the Writer's Cycle, rehearsing. During this part students have been creating character webs, and puppets of their characters. Once they have finished their puppets together with a partner they practice telling their stories. Working with a partner allows them to have some feedback and work to create a story that is interesting and makes sense to an audience. Once they have done all this work in the rehearsing section of the cycle, they finish off with creating their story maps. This will be their road map as they write their stories.
In Science today students worked on an exit project for the Building with a Variety of Materials Unit. They are creating a trading card for all the big ideas that they took away from the experiments we did. This helps them to learn from their experiments as well as to consolidate their understandings
