Today we jumped right into a new unit in science-Light and Shadow! Today students worked through a series of questions that were meant to be thought-provoking and get us thinking about light and shadow. Each table had one question written on a large piece of paper, and students worked through each table and wrote their answer. This will be a great tool to use as we discuss some of these topics in our upcoming unit, and also will be great to revisit after we have completed our unit to see if we have expanded our thinking or cleared up any misconceptions. See pictures below!
We also reviewed subtracting with regrouping in math today. Students worked through a series of questions and worked step by step to solve various problems. We realized that if we stop after doing each step it can be easier to catch our mistakes and see where we might get confused. We will continue working with subtraction for this week.
Reminders
- Our next inline skating day is next Thursday, November 12th
- Remembrance Day Assembly next Tuesday, November 10th
- NO school on Wednesday, November 11th (Remembrance Day)
Question of the Day
What was one of your answers to a science question about light and shadow from today?
Have a great night!
