We continued our investigation of quality of life in Social Studies today by reading the story "Those Shoes." We then revisited our list of Needs from last week, and brainstormed as a class some other needs that need to be met to have a good quality of life. The students will continue to explore quality of life by picking the top 3 needs.
Over the last couple of days in writing we have been working on goal setting. We talked about how the Circle of Courage can relate to goal setting in the areas of Mastery and Independence. We have been working hard to pick goals that are in an area that we would like to improve, and making them realistic and achievable for each individual student. We started with writing "I will" followed by a specific area we would like to improve. Then we added the when and where we will be working on our goal; such as the specific subject. Our last step was to write "I will know I've mastered my goal when ___." This will help us to keep us accountable and to know when we have achieved our goals.
A white form went home tonight regarding contact information. Please read, sign and return to school. Thanks! Have a wonderful night.
