Today we continued our investigation about Building and Testing designs by examining pillars and columns. Students were given a challenge: using one piece of paper, create a pillar to support the weight of as many textbooks as you can. As an extra challenge, students had to then use the same size piece of paper to create 4 smaller pillars and see which could hold more textbooks. We will continue testing tomorrow!
During writing today we re-visited our literary devices of alliteration, personification, similes, metaphors and hyperbole by doing some sensory writing outside. Using their senses, students created as many descriptive sentences about what they saw, heard, felt, etc.
Basil order forms were sent home today, as well as scholastic book orders. Book orders are due back by next Friday, April 24th.
Have a great night!
