In math we have been continuing learning different addition strategies. Earlier this week we focused on expanded notation, where we break a number down into the hundreds, tens and ones. Today we discussed how estimation can help us in our adding. We got a chance to practice estimating the answer to our question, using rounding, and then using expanded form to check our answer. We will be continuing to add to our toolbox of addition strategies, and students can pick the strategies that work best for them.
This afternoon we also enjoyed the Grade 2 assembly! It was phenomenal, and we especially enjoyed watching the We Are Evergreen video. Evergreen School really is a place where we all feel part of a community. Thank you to the grade 2’s!
Please note that because of the short week there will be no spelling test this week. The test will be next Monday. Also, parent teacher interviews are this week on Thursday evening or Friday morning. Please sign up from the school webpage if you have not already done so.
Have a great night!
