Today we opened up our store in math! Students are creating their own room and are able to buy certain items for their room, such as a couch, chairs, table, etc. Students are given a budget to work with and flyers showing the price of items. It’s shopping time! Students need to apply their subtraction strategies to show their work to be able to purchase their items. We will be continuing this project throughout the week.
We also continued working on persuasive writing. We talked about how persuasion really means trying to convince someone of something. We did some class role plays, and did a write aloud of “Why students should get a longer recess.” Today we used graphic organizers to help sequence our ideas, and tomorrow we will be turning them into paragraphs.
Just a reminder that scholastic book orders are due tomorrow Wednesday Nov. 26. Payment must be in cheque!
The school is collecting non-perishable food bank items. If you would like to donate any please send them to school with your child.
Have a lovely evening!
