This week students have been spending some extra time on IRIS. Not only is IRIS a place to showcase work and to receive feedback, but students can also use it as a tool to set learning goals and record strategies to help them achieve their goals. Students have been working hard to update their profiles and are excited to show their work at Student Led Conferences later this week.
Today during writing students participated in a “Just Write” activity. This is where students are challenged to write for a certain period of time without stopping at ALL. The goal is to have their pencil moving the whole time. The room fell absolutely silent and students were engaged in the task at hand. Students commented on their increase in stamina and how much easier this is compared to the beginning of the year.
Scholastic book orders must be sent in tomorrow Wednesday March 18.
No school Thursday for conferences (8am-8pm).
No school Friday (Teacher PD Day).
Question of the Day
What did you choose to write about during Just Write? Did you find it easy or challenging to write for 10 minutes without stopping?
Have a wonderful evening!
