This morning during literacy centres students were engaged, focused, and working hard to meet their weekly goals. After each centre students evaluate themselves on a bulls-eye target and take necessary steps towards reaching their goal.
In math today students got a chance to create their own zoo, using only graph paper! Yesterday some students were making connections with the shapes they were drawing to real life objects and animals. Today students’ task was to create as many zoo animals as they could with certain perimeters. Students divided their page into “cages” where animals of the same perimeter were grouped together. Look below for some pictures!
Book orders were sent home today. They are due back on the last day before Spring Break: Thursday March 19th. Please continue collecting donations for Muscular Dystrophy. Here is the link for online donations, which can be shared via Facebook and Twitter to friends and family who wish to donate.

Question of the Day
What was your favourite animal you created for your zoo? What was the perimeter?
Have a wonderful evening!
