We had another great day in room 51! Today in writing students had a chance to start some Acrostic poems. Students were challenged to write an Acrostic poem with sentences rather than just one word. We found that it was sometimes easier to use a full sentence, rather than just using one word. Students were careful and selective with their word choice to create meaningful poems. They turned out fantastic!
In Math today we explored some of the differences between increasing and repeating patterns. We learned that instead of having a “core” that repeats, increasing patterns have a pattern "rule". We explored increasing patterns using numbers, actions, sounds and manipulatives. We are looking forward to exploring patterns throughout this week. Students were challenged to look for a pattern around them-whether outside, in the house…anywhere!
Please continue to send in any signed report card envelopes!
Have a great night!
