We also continued our exploration of poetry by looking at various Haiku poems. We read several examples, and then students brainstormed possible topics to write Haiku poems about. During their writing, students were encouraged to include the poetic devices we previously discussed: similes, metaphors, personification, alliteration and hyperbole.
Tomorrow we are excited about handing out Valentines cards. Please remember there is no obligation to pass the cards out, and we will only allow them to be passed out during the designated time in the afternoon.
Please note that there will be no school on Thursday and Friday of this week as teachers have professional development on those days. There is also no school on Monday so that we can all celebrate Family Day.
Swimming forms went home today!! Swimming lessons for our class and Mrs. Predika's class will be on March 2, March 3, March 5 and March 6. Please read the letter for detailed information about specific times. Please sign and return the consent forms, payment and swimming ability form by February 20th. Please also return the volunteer slip if you are able to help us out. We are in need of more volunteers!
