We had another great day of learning in room 51. April is a very busy month, so be sure to check the blog frequently so you don’t miss any important updates! Today students continued working on their textbook page for social studies. Students have been using a rubric, and checklist with peer and teacher feedback throughout the process to help guide their work and look for areas of improvement. Students have been working very hard, and some of them are ready to start publishing their textbook pages! Check out the social studies tab to see the different templates students can use for their textbook page. We are looking forward to continuing to work on these throughout the week.
In writing today we continued our work with story writing and story mapping. Students were introduced to a big project that we will be undertaking for the next little while. We read the introduction to the story The Mysteries of Harris Burdick by Chris Van Allsburg. Students were then given a page from this story, and worked together in small groups to create a story map. Over the next few days, students will be working to complete their own story maps based on a picture from this book to write and publish their own stories.
Evergreen’s Got Talent will be this Friday at 10:00. Parents are welcome to attend.
Question of the Day
What is a possible story problem for the picture below? *Remember-what does the main character need or want?*
Have a lovely evening!
