During math today students were introduced to division, and connected what they know about multiplication to help them. Students used a variety of manipulatives to represent division questions. They learned that the first number in a division sentence tells you the total number of objects, the second tells the number of objects in each group, and the last is the number of groups (quotient). We then re-arranged the sentences to make multiplication sentences. For example:
12 ÷ 3 = 4 OR 4 x 3 = 12
Tomorrow is an exciting day at Evergreen school as we get to watch our “Evergreen’s Got Talent” show! Students from grades 3 and 4 will be performing various talents, and we can’t wait to cheer them on. Parents are welcome to attend. The show starts at 10:00 in the gym.
Parents, if you have any artifacts from Tunisia, Peru, Ukraine, or India, could you please send an email to your classroom teacher? We will be exploring Cubism as we make artwork in our next project, and we would like to photograph them for this project.
Spelling test will be tomorrow.
Question of the Day
