What a busy, busy day! We started off the morning with our Terry Fox Run. The students did AWESOME. We would like to say a big thank you to all of our parent volunteers who helped things to go so smoothly. Also, thank you for all your donations! We are continuing to live Terry's dream today.
We have introduced 4 of our literacy centres: Read to Self, Read To Someone, Word Work and Work on Writing. We practiced doing these today as centres and did really well. Next week we will look at Listen to Reading and IRIS as our new literay centres.
Today in math we continued to work on our skip counting. We are getting really good at visualizing the pattern when we skip count by 5's. We used a 100's chart to help us see the pattern in the ten's place and the one's place. For example, starting at 7 skip counting by 5's: 7, 12, 17, 22, 27, 32, 37, etc. The students had various skip counting challenges to complete, and we are starting to see how skip counting can help us with doing quick mental math.
Enjoy the nice weather tonight!
