"Today we did our 'Red is Best' story. We got to do our own colour."
"In gym we played a new game. It was called 'In and Out Tag.'"
"Today we learned a new game in math with calculators. It was about place value. Ask me how to play this at home!"
"In Daily 5 word work we spelled our words in secret code."
"Today in Science we listened to sounds and we said which one made a higher or lower pitch."
"Today in read aloud we read 2 stories about fall."
We had a great day of learning today in grade 3. In Science, we continued learning about Hearing and Sound. We reviewed our vocabulary words of vibration and pitch. We listened to some different sounds and had to make a hypothesis about which was going to have a higher pitch, and which was going to have a lower pitch. We also learned about how our vocal chords work. As me about this at home!
Grade 3 students are piloting a new assessment tool to help improve student learning. These assessments are digitally based and focus on literacy, numeracy and cross discipline competencies.
The assessments will run from September 29 to October 10, 2014. Parents will be provided with detailed information to help guide learning. Please read through the attached information bulletin for more information about the SLA's (Student Learning Assessments).
