Today the room was buzzing while students were working on their writing! These are going to be some fantastic, fabulous, fractured fairy tales! Students are continually using peer and teacher feedback, as well as checklists, to help push their work forward and make it their very best. Most of us are now in the publishing stage, and have a few loose strings to tie up in our endings. We will be adding illustrations to the final project and I can hardly wait to see how they turn out!
We will have an in class presentation/hands on work shop on Tuesday December 8th in the morning. We still need 3 more volunteers to help. If you are able to come in and assist and have a current police clearance, please comment below or send me an email. Ideally it would be best if you could arrive at the school at 7:45 am. The activity takes approximately 2 and a half to 3 hours.
The grade 2's are also collecting gently used toys and books for their Stephen's Backpack toy sale starting tomorrow December 1st. The items may be brought to any grade 2 classroom or dropped off at the office. They will also take cash donations. The toy sale will be on Thursday, December 3rd. Items will be between $1-$5. If you would like to purchase something from the sale to support Stephen's Backpack please send your child with money on Thursday.
Scholastic book orders are due this Thursday, December 3rd. Please note you can now also pay online by credit card.
Question of the Day
List an example of an object that emits (produces) light. Start collecting pictures of different objects that emit (produce) light and bring them to class.
Have a great night!
