Today we worked on a special project with 3 other schools! Each of the grade 4 classes from Evergreen, Bridlewood, Prince of Wales, and Andrew Sibbald showed a picture from artist Chris Jordan. We asked the students to think critically about the artwork and record some "I see, I think, I wonder" statements. The teachers recorded their responses using "Padlet" which allowed us to see what the other schools were doing at the same time! It was pretty neat and we learned lots about waste and our environment. The picture we examined is below. What did we see when we zoomed in??
A few students from our class prepared a presentation about AARCS today (Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society). We learned all about the organization, and learned they are in need of extra resources right now. Please consider donating $1 (or any amount) as any donations we collect this week will be matched! We are hoping to help out our friends at AARCS by collecting donations this week.
The grade 2's are also collecting gently used toys and books for their Stephen's Backpack toy sale starting on December 1. The items may be brought to any grade 2 classroom or dropped off at the office. We will also take cash donations.
Question of the Day
We learned that 410 000 paper cups are disposed of every 15 minutes in the United States. How many cups would that be in one hour? How about one day?
Have a great night!
