Today during science students started a new project. Each table was given a different insect or amphibian to become an "expert" on. Students are working together as a table to gather research about their animal. Tomorrow students will be using QR codes and iPads to check out some websites and videos for additional information.
In math we started a fraction avenue project. Students were posed with the task of drawing "fraction avenue" by referring to set criteria. For example, 1/8 of the houses must have a red door, there must be trees in front of 3/4 of the houses, etc. After students complete this criteria they will get to create some of their own questions to go along with it.
