Today during math we introduced multiplication! We realized there are many different strategies to help us solve multiplication problems. Some students used skip counting or repeated addition, and others suggested an array. Today as a whole class we talked about looking at addition as equal groups. For example, when looking at the problem 3x5=15, students can think of 3 equal groups with 5 in each group. We will be continuing to explore these different multiplication strategies throughout the week.
Before spring break, students were sent home with a red notice about our Cultural night coming up on April 23rd. Please send back this form if your family would like to share your culture with the school. For example: showing a talent (henna, drumming, dancing, etc.), bringing decorations, or providing food. If you need another form please let me know.
Question of the Day
Your class is having a pizza party. You buy 5 pizzas, and each pizza has 4 slices. How many slices is that all together?
Extension-If there are 25 people in your class will that be enough pizza? If you need more, how many more pizzas would you need so each person could have 1 slice?
Have a great night!
