We had a great start to the week today. Students were focused, on task and determined to do their best. It was wonderful to see! With the start of a new year, we decided to make some new learning goals for IRIS. Today we took a look at our writing and did some reflecting on areas we can improve. Using the COPS checklist (capitals, overused words, punctuation and spelling) we looked through our work and determined a writing goal. We will be uploading these to IRIS in the next week, and in the coming weeks we will be adding strategies to help us achieve our goals.
During writing we continued our investigation of personification. Each table group made a poster of strong verbs we can use to help our writing come alive. We got a chance to share our posters with the class, then experiment with writing some of our own! We are looking forward to continuing to explore personification.
Just a reminder that you can now book appointments for Parent Teacher Interviews through the Evergreen Home Page. They are held on January 29 PM and 30 AM. Please also bring $3.50 to Mrs. Henderson if you need to purchase a recorder for your child.
Have a wonderful night!
