Today we enjoyed another Fun Fact Friday! This week’s challenge was “pyramid math” with a riddle. Students had to start at the bottom of a pyramid, and answer various addition and subtraction questions to work their way up. Once reaching the top, they had to use a key to decode the answer to their riddle. Students were engaged and practiced using a variety of strategies such as base ten, number line and house strategy.
Students are coming home with their new spelling words today. Before our spelling test, we introduced our new word wall words. We focused on the “ea” word family. Together as a class we brainstormed as many “ea” words as we could, and grouped them into words that both look the same and sound the same. Many students are coming home today with various “ea” words to practice next week.
