We had a great day today in room 51. Over the past several days students have been examining various pictures from the four countries we have been studying: India, Tunisia, Peru and Ukraine. Students created "I see" and "I wonder" statements from looking at the pictures, and today they had a chance to respond to the pictures. We were looking for specific clues that demonstrated Quality of Life.
We also had a chance to practice for our upcoming Readers Theatre presentations. We collaboratively constructed some criteria for our presentations by discussing the elements of: Fluency, Expression, Presentation and Group Work. Students will be performing for their classmates on the last day of school next week.
We are looking forward to constructing our gingerbread houses next week on Tuesday! Thank you so much to the families that have donated candies/graham crackers/volunteered their time to help us prepare today. We are still looking for a few more boxes of graham crackers. If you have any you'd be willing to donate you can send them with your child on Monday.
Have a wonderful weekend!
