What a busy Friday! Today students spent some time exploring books looking for pictures of various artifacts for our upcoming art project. The students are to pick an artifact that represents one of the four countries we are studying (Ukraine, India, Peru, Tunisia). The students were asked to continue to think about it over the weekend and come back on Monday with an idea of an artifact they would like to draw. Remember, this artifact should be specific to that country! Some ideas we came up with were: Taj Mahal, Ukranian Easter Eggs, sitar, etc. We will then be applying principles of cubism and Picasso’s Blue Period to make artwork that looks similar to the examples below.
Students also completed their spelling tests and are coming home with their new words. After spelling we got a chance to visit our grade one buddies and meet their new baby ducklings! Students helped their buddy to record some of their observations about their ducklings.
