Good Evening Families,
I hope everyone enjoyed their long weekends, sounds like all the kiddos had fun!
Today we we started a new Language Arts unit that will take us to the end of the year. The unit is called Nature Watch. We will be reading books together throughout this unit and talking about what we can do to protect our environment. Ask me what we learned today about nature and our environment.
We had our spelling test today and the kids did great. Ask me what I got. There will be no spelling words this week with the short week, we will start again next Monday.
We continued our work on Time in Math today. We talked about digital and analog clocks and did some activities to tell time in both formats.
It is supposed to be chilly and rainy tomorrow, make sure to dress for the temperature! Hopefully our warm weather returns soon!
Please remember to take some time to donate and share our link for the ALS walk on June 1. The kids have been working hard in gym on a routine for ALS awareness.
Evergreen for ALS
Our school is participating in a community walk to support the ALS Society of Alberta on Thursday, June 1, 2017. This is a cause that has directly impacted our school this year. Approximately 3 000 Canadians live with ALS. There is no known cause or cure for this devastating disease - yet.
All proceeds from our walk will stay in Alberta to make each day the best possible day for people living with and affected by ALS. Please use the link below if you would like to make an online donation. Our School ALS Donation Page with the ALS Society of Alberta: EVERGREEN FOR ALS . We thank you for your support!
Parents and community members are invited to join us at Evergreen School on Thursday June 1st from 6:00pm to 7:00pm for an informative session with Dr. Lawrence Korngut. Dr. Korngut will be sharing information about ALS and current promising research. Dr. Korngut is a neurologist at the Calgary Neuromuscular Clinic and is the Director of the Calgary ALS and Motor Neuron Disease Clinic. His research includes clinical trials of new therapies for neuromuscular conditions. Please RSVP to this event before May 25th at [email protected]
