Happy Tuesday Students and Families,
Today we did a lot of catching up and preparing for Student-Led Conferences. Students added details to their passports that they will be using to travel around the stations that will be set up to demonstrate and celebrate their learning.
In Social Studies, remaining students shared their anthems they created together with their table group. We then looked at the special features of flags and how the colours, unique symbols and details have meaning and represent important characteristics of that specific country such as the history or national flowers and animals. Students had the opportunity to work together in creating a flag that represents the special characteristics of the people in their table group. Students were interested in other countries flags and the Culturegrams website is a wonderful resource to explore because as we discovered today it describes the significance of the colours and symbols within each country's flag.
