Comment Challenge: Name as many different kinds of fasteners that you can find in your house.
Good afternoon everyone,
Today students began learning the moves of their new Bollywood dance routine with Sound Kreations. What an interesting and enjoyable cultural dance we get to learn. Ask me to show the new dance moves I am learning.
Students were working very hard on a really nice piece of work for a special someone that will soon be leaving our school. We are really looking forward to gifting it to her. In Science we tested the strength and durability of plasticine and marshmallows as fasteners for holding toothpicks together. We discovered that the plasticine structures were able to stand up better and hold more weight.
In Math, students had another opportunity to practice their addition with 2 and 3 digit regrouping. We are learning that practicing skills multiple times helps make more pathways in our brains to help us become better and remember the skills we learn. Our school has been entered in a Math March Madness contest to win a class field trip and some other prizes by completing as many questions as we can on Mathletics. There are assigned tasks on Mathletics that students can practice and complete at home to help our class. All students should have their Mathletics login and if not please ask Mrs. Wilcox or Ms. Trgina at school so we can write it down for you to take home.
Reminders: Could students please make sure to have a set of their own headphones for at school to use during individual computer activities. Student Led Conference times are now available online for booking. We are starting to look for volunteers for our next field trip at the Bow Habitat Station on April 11. We will be learning about the life cycles of trout. We would really love for you to join us. Please email if you are able to volunteer.
Enjoy the warm weather. See you tomorrow!
