Please make sure you have booked a conference time to meet with me either Thursday evening or Friday afternoon. There is school for students Friday morning.
Today we started a program called Power4Bones. Students will be working through various activities throughout the next month as they learn about healthy bones, and will be creating a public service announcement at the end. Please see below for more information.
Over the next couple of months, your child will be participating in a fun learning program called Power4Bones.
This program teaches students in grade 4 about how to build and maintain strong bones and encourages them to take care of their bones with bone-building foods and physical activities.
Learning about good bone-health habits now may reduce kids’ risk of breaks and fractures when they are young and decrease their risk of getting osteoporosis (brittle bones) when they are older.
The program is not just about health. It also helps students develop and use their language, communication and technology skills. I hope you and your child will benefit from Power4Bones and that you will get the whole family involved in learning about bone-health.
In Math today we used base ten blocks to show multiplication and division. We will work more with this tomorrow.
We reviewed editing our writing today. We talked about when words need to have a capital letter. As we work on editing our stories, noticing and fixing our capitalizations will be an area we focus on.
I have added assignments to Mathletics for those of you that completed the previous assignments.
Please read tonight for 15 minutes and work on your Mathletics assignment for 15 minutes.
Have a wonderful evening.
