Today we continued exploring the "Origins of the Blackfoot" museo kit from the Glenbow museum. We had 7 new artifacts we looked at today (see pictures below). It was so interesting to look at the artifacts and predict what they were used for and how they were made. We continued working on a visual journal page of sketching and answering key questions.
We are also continuing our "Power4Bones" health program. Today we talked about Canada's Food Guide and talked about the different food groups and some examples of each. We noticed that the "Milk and Alternatives" food group is the only one that goes down in suggested servings as we age. We learned last week that the best time to build strong bones is NOW! We can do this by eating healthy bone foods and doing weight-bearing activities to help build our bones.
Reminders
- Mandatory parent meeting for Drumheller overnight trip on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 4:30. Please remember that one of you must come to the parent night for your child to attend the field trip.
- Forms coming home for handbell field trip next Tuesday, Feb. 9. Please send them back ASAP
Question of the Day
What did you have for dinner tonight? Which food groups did you eat?
Have a great night!
-Mrs. Redd
